Answers for the moments between chapters.

The current Librix app is built to keep a reading library on your device. These answers cover the most common questions about that local-first setup.

Still need a hand?

For a bug report or feature request, open an issue in the public Librix repository. Issues are visible to everyone, so never include your password, private book files, personal notes or other sensitive information.

A few things worth knowing

Where is my library stored?

In the app’s local storage on your device. The current app does not sync reading records to a Librix server.

How do I add a PDF or EPUB?

Use the book form to select a document. Librix copies that file into its app storage and opens supported files in its reader.

How do I make a backup?

The current JSON export includes profile details and reading data but not your password or its hash; restoring it asks you to set a new local password. Librix does not encrypt the JSON. Older app builds may have exported a plain-text password, so keep older backups private and delete them when no longer needed.

What happens if I forget my local profile password?

There is no online password reset because profiles are stored locally and Librix has no account server. The current app stores a salted bcrypt hash, not the original password. If you forget it, use a separate backup to restore your reading data and choose a new local password; if needed, first clear the app’s local storage. New backups omit credentials, but older backups may contain a plain-text password.

How can I remove my profile and reading data?

In the current app, open Account → Delete profile, review the warning and confirm. Librix deletes the local profile and linked records, cancels local reminders, and attempts to remove app-managed files. If the app reports a cleanup warning, clear Librix storage in device settings. Backups saved outside Librix are separate files and must be deleted separately. If your installed version has no such control, use the device-level instructions below.

Is the Google Play download available?

This is a mock preview link using the app package ID dev.zyther.dlibrary. The Google Play listing is not live yet, so the link may show that the app is unavailable until a store listing is published.
